QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology program with specialization in mammography.
  • Active certification as a Mammography Technologist with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CMRITO/CAMRT).
  • Strong knowledge of breast anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately and empathetically with patients.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare team.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and medical imaging software.
Responsibilities
  • Perform mammograms and related procedures, such as breast ultrasounds, according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and privacy.
  • Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and quality control standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, imaging procedures, and results.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings and contribute to patient care plans.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, maintain cleanliness, and report malfunctions or necessary repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and best practices in mammography technology.
