Description GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Assist the Imaging Director with planning, organizing and administering of both the mammography sites. Responsible for introductory and annual evaluations and competencies. Assists Imaging Director with hiring and disciplinary process within the mammography departments. Ensures department consistently produces high quality mammographic exams with attention to patient satisfaction; by holding peers accountable for workload assignments and quality of work produced. Liaison to our Breast Navigator. Getting key information from our mammography patients that are being referred for a biopsy. Assists Lead Mammography Technologist with preparation of mammography schedules to assure the smooth flow of section activities, recognizing when other technologists need assistance or other resources. Responsible for ensuring prior images from all sources are available and attached properly. Attends management meetings to stay abreast of any changes to policy, procedures or personnel changes. Assists and ensures that supplies are ordered and used in a cost effective manner. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of Imaging ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Create a positive first impression with courtesy, compassion and professional image. Greets patient, verifies with two identifiers, obtains patient history and provides exam instruction. Images via PACS system are delivered to the radiologist for reading/interpretation. Requirements EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years experience in radiology imaging modalities and 1 year experience as Mammography supervisor KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Self–motivated & directed with regard to an increasing level of understanding and knowledge. Respect patients, staff and customers with confidentiality, attendance and punctuality. Knowledge of safety hazards related to mammography. Ability to identify problems. Ability to communicate clearly, maintain concentration and attention to detail Ability to establish effective working relationships. Capable of demonstrating flexibility with the operational demands of the department. ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical offices Communicable diseases PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires full body motion.
