Get to Know Your Team: BSA Harrington Cancer Center is a state-of-the-art, 48,000-square-foot facility with two new linear accelerators for radiation treatments, 24 patient exam rooms, 28 heated chemotherapy infusion chairs, and three private infusion rooms for families. Responsibilities A mammography technologist will provide patient services using various imaging modalities, which may include Stereotactic, Contrast Mammography, and DEXA. Mammographers are expected to perform screening and diagnostic procedures in a fast-paced environment. Need to exercise critical thinking skills, be able to troubleshoot, and be able to manage stress. Must be able to work well with others and have effective communication skills. Technologists follow the direction of the Breast Center Radiologist and established procedures/protocols. Shifts are spent with extensive time on their feet, which includes standing, squatting, and bending. When performing exams, the technologist must adhere to all radiation safety precautions. Technologists must be available to complete exams at the main facility (HBC), detached facilities, and outreach settings. A technologist is responsible for their quality of images, positioning skills, and the basic knowledge of quality control tests. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School (or GED equivalent) diploma. ARRT Certification in Radiological Technology. Texas Department of Health Licensure. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements: 1 year of experience in screening and diagnostic procedures. Experience in performing QC tests. Basic knowledge of stereotactic biopsies. Associate's Degree or certificate required from a CAHEA-approved Radiological Technology Program. Mammo registry.
