About the opportunity: The Mammography Tech Training Program will teach on the job skills to perform breast imaging procedures including mammography and stereotactic breast biopsy. Follows MQSA and ACR guidelines for breast imaging. What you will do: Knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions, and safe administration of radiation. Identify and review patient’s requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information for the physician and patient. Ability to learn all Mammography and stereotactic equipment, examinations, and protocols, as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents and sterile techniques. Conduct and document quality control assuring equipment is within safe limits per MQSA and ACR guidelines. Clearly communicate and educate patients prior to, during, and after breast imaging procedures to guide patients and loved ones to the next step of their breast health coordinating the continuity of care. Assist with breast imaging examinations for technical accuracy, present completed examinations to the radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure. Routinely schedule breast imaging appointments and assist in coordinating breast imaging exams to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care. Assist with the management of the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments and ensure the proper patient charge. Promote breast health education by assisting in organizational promotional/educational events. Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values. License(s) and Certification(s): American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: ARRT (R) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Enrolled in Mammography 3D Training program within the first 30 days preferred.
