Your Opportunity:
Screen Test is part of the Alberta Breast Cancer Screening Program and provides screening mammography services through Edmonton and two mobile mammography units, which visit over 120 locations across Alberta. This position is responsible for facilitating the mobile mammography clinics and performing mammograms at mobile sites in communities across Alberta. In addition to performing high quality mammographic exams, this position is responsible for the operation and monitoring of all mobile equipment and trailer systems at all mobile sites including the fleet vehicles. Out of town and overnight travel is required. May be required to work in the Calgary Screen Test Clinic on occasion. This position is required to work compressed work weeks and extended workdays (3 – 12-hour shifts, per rotation, as per HSAA collective agreement Local conditions Article 1.3). This work also involves transporting supplies to the mobile clinic which requires the ability to lift/carry supplies weighing up to 25 lbs. upstairs. Responsibilities also include: Driving fleet vehicles; setup and shutdown of trailer as required. Monitoring trailer systems; troubleshooting trailer problems and mammography equipment issues as necessary. Performing mobile duties such as reviewing schedules; purchasing supplies; arranging service and cleaning of mobile vehicles. Performing quality control tests on mammography unit. Performing miscellaneous fixed site duties, such as picking up/dropping off files and supplies, assisting other staff members as necessary, and other flex time duties such as tech audits and attending meetings.
Description:
As a Mammography Technologist I, you will be responsible for performing mammographic exams to produce high quality images using radiologic digital equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. You will receive and complete requisitions, enter relevant data into the radiology information system and prepare examination trays and patients for specific procedures. You will operate computerized imaging equipment including processing and archiving of acquired data and monitoring patients and equipment performance during procedures.
