This position has the ability to work remotely up to 5 days per week but may be required to report to the Madison office location at 1 West Wilson Street on occasion to complete certain tasks. This schedule may vary based on training or operational need.
POSITION SUMMARY
As the Managed Care Data Analyst, you will represent specific program/business areas with distinctive IS applications, needs, and requirements. You will be responsible for policy research, data analysis, development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of distinctive information systems for the support of the program’s business. Duties include:
- Designing, implementing, managing, monitoring, enhancing and evaluating of assigned managed care business area systems, data, and operation of the Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) operated by contracted vendors, which includes data and system analysis, monitoring, and project management.
- Directing and monitoring changes to the MES data, reports and visual data representations resulting from implementation of policies, changes to federal and state reporting requirements, reimbursement methodologies, budget initiatives, new MES vendor contracts and changes to MES vendor contracts for Medicaid and other State health care programs.
- Serving as both the policy and systems liaison within certain projects and/or leading projects as directed by the Section Manager, or Division leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience preparing and presenting data-driven reports and data analyses to partners and management.
- Experience with health insurance claims processing service coding and claims payment processing or encounter reporting.
- Experience with computerized data processing applications, including spreadsheet and database software, systems analysis, report generation techniques, and programming techniques such as SQL, SAS, R, etc.
Well qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience working in a liaison role with people from a variety of professional backgrounds.
- Experience designing, organizing, and carrying out complex project plans using project management principles, practices, and techniques.
- Experience working with the Wisconsin healthcare industry.
