About the role The Management Accountant plays a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial information, supporting departmental budgeting and forecasting, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across financial processes. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organisation. Key responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Prepare and post monthly journals, including intercompany recharges and P&L adjustments. Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and lead schedules. Produce and analyse management accounts, providing insightful variance analysis and commentary for stakeholders. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the preparation of monthly consolidated departmental reports. Partner with department heads to develop, review, and refine budgets. Month-End & Year-End Activities Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial information. Prepare lead schedules and year-end working papers to support audit requirements. Taxation & Compliance Prepare and submit Group VAT returns via Sage, including reconciliations and necessary adjustments. Support the preparation of corporation tax and R&D tax submissions. Payroll & Employee Data Process payroll journals and review payroll reports for accuracy. Accounts Payable & Receivable Support BAU activities for EBL’s AP/AR functions, including the maintenance of customer, supplier, and staff data. Business Partnering Collaborate closely with department heads to review performance, budgets, and forecasts. Systems & Controls Oversee company card and staff expense processes, implementing updates, improvements, and training initiatives. Continuous Improvement & Supervision Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities across finance functions.
