PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, with strong VAT knowledge (detailed VAT understanding is a bonus).
  • Capable of preparing management accounts, cashflows, KPIs and budgets.
  • Hands-on payroll knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to work closely with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Previous experience with Xero, Sage and Key Accounts software is desirable.
  • Ideally AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a background in practice.
  • An interest in rural business, estates or renewables would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
  • Produce and review monthly and quarterly management accounts, including forecasts and budget comparisons.
  • Supervise and support junior team members, providing training and feedback where needed.
  • Oversee payroll processes and reviews.
  • Maintain and update financial records for a range of clients.
  • Prepare and review VAT returns accurately and efficiently.
  • Offer advice to clients on improving financial systems and processes.
  • Step in to provide interim support for clients when required.
