This is a key role that will contribute to the overall success of the organisation working alongside the Senior Finance and Commercial Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Working towards Industry-recognised certification (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
  • Proven experience in similar role (4 years+ experience in accounts department)
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Robust Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sage Accounts and Payroll
  • Document scanning & invoice approval software.
  • Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
  • Work in Progress (WIP) accounting

Responsibilities
  • Financial Accounting
  • Balance sheet control account reconciliations
  • Management of the fixed asset register
  • Management of the wages and associated costs (PAYE, Pension, Attachment of Earnings) control accounts, and timely payments
  • WIP journal postings
  • Ensure VAT returns are fully audited, submitted and paid on time
  • Maintain intercompany balances data
  • Daily Sales Invoicing
  • Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Supplier Payment Runs
  • Various Aspects of Purchase Ledger
  • Management Accounts:
  • Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Management of the overhead allocations
  • Analysis of cost variances against budget
  • Trend analysis
  • Cash Flow Management:
  • Preparation of weekly cashflow reports
  • Work in collaboration with the AR and AP teams
  • Project Reporting:
  • Prepare project reports for month end CVR’s
  • Report variances and trends (cost increases / turnover movements)
  • Office National Statistics:
  • Provide data for various ONS submissions
  • Ensure timely submissions
  • AR and AP Functions:
  • Provide support to both AR and AP functions as necessary
