INTRODUCTION:

ConsMin produces some of the world’s highest grade manganese ore and is considered a world leader in manganese mining. Our ConsMin Australian operation (Woodie Woodie) is based in the WA Pilbara, 407kms south-east of Port Hedland.

DESCRIPTION:

As the Management Accountant, you will enjoy a hybrid role and support the team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Planning Analyst, primary responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Assistance in Fixed Asset and Capital WIP Reconciliation including process from production of financials for capex submission to management of costs for approved capital projects, fixed asset additions, maintaining depreciation regimes and disposals
  • Maintaining monthly inventory valuation and deferred strip models
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely operational departments to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy.

Assist in developing the reports to facilitate the cost analysis and identifying the areas of improvement
Identify trends to provide insight to management with potential areas of concern and improvement.
Prepare regular management reports, KPIs and other metrics to help management monitor performance and make informed decisions.
Providing financial support to operational and corporate stakeholders
Maintain internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This might involve participating in audits and implementing recommendations for process improvements.
Assist Financial Accounting team with annual audit requirements
Supporting Senior Financial Planning Analyst with other ad hoc duties as required

Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE ARE:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Accounting, Finance or similar)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in operational accounting within Mining sector
ERP System experience; Oracle and/or Pronto preferred
Intermediate Microsoft Office, including Excel modelling (desirable)
Strong commercial, analytical, problem-solving skills
Professional communication skills (written/interpersonal)
High degree of attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Organisational and time-management skills
Flexibility to attend our Manganese Mine Operations on a monthly basis
CA or CPA (or working towards qualification)
