SKILLS:

  • Desirable: Experience in the logistics, freight, or supply chain sector is beneficial but not essential.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team in Biggleswade. This hybrid role will support the Finance Director across a broad range of financial functions, compliance requirements, and strategic analysis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong technical skills and a collaborative mindset to make a tangible impact within a fast-paced, evolving business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT EXHAUSTIVE)

  • Data Management: Manage and respond to financial data requests from Group HQ, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Compliance & Controls: Support the Finance Director in the development and maintenance of robust internal controls to meet IFRS/FRS102 standards and implement ICFRS requirements.
  • Payroll Oversight: Process UK corporate payroll and related compliance tasks, including P11D, PSA, gender pay gap reporting, and reconciliations for all payrolls.
  • Business Partnering: Act as the finance business partner for corporate cost centres, producing month-end results and working closely with department heads to ensure accuracy and insight.
  • Product & Margin Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis on UK freight and logistics products, identifying trends, pricing opportunities, and cost optimisation strategies.
  • Financial Planning & Reporting: Coordinate UK budgeting, forecasting, and flash reporting cycles; consolidate data and liaise with key stakeholders.
  • Statutory & Tax Reporting: Oversee and produce the statutory reporting for the UK, liaising with our external auditors to ensure completion in accordance with our Ultimate Holding Companies timetable. Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate Corporate Tax submission.
  • Balance Sheet Management: Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts to ensure integrity and control.
