What's the role about? Management Accountant Fixed Term Contract (9 Months) Working: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week Location: Winnersh, RG41 (Hybrid) Drive financial excellence at Smollan! As a key member of our management accounting team, you won’t just report the numbers—you’ll own them. Reporting to the Lead Management Accountant, you will deliver high-precision insights to stakeholders, sharpen our customer budget processes, and lead the charge on continuous improvement across the group. This role is for a fixed term 9-month period. What you'll be doing: Revenue & Cost Management: Oversee revenue recognition and manage costs for key revenue streams Collaborative Reporting: Work alongside other management accountants to ensure precise financial reporting Performance Reviews: Lead review meetings with the broader business team to ensure performance adjustments are reflected Financial Support: Be the go-to expert for gross profit queries, offering critical financial support Customer Reconciliations: Manage and process reconciliations, including cost-plus reconciliations Client Account Management: Collaborate with senior management to help steer client accounts Budgeting & Quotations: Assist in preparing budgets and quotations for both new and ongoing client relationships Month-End & Year-End Reporting: Contribute to monthly management accounts and support the preparation of annual budgets Forecasting: Help create monthly and quarterly forecasting reports to keep the business on track Journal Processing: Manage monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and deferred income Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy System Management: Be a key user of our SAP-based financial reporting system (BPC) and assist in maintaining Dynamics 365 What you'll bring to the role: Part Qualified ACCA or CIMA Strong management accounting experience, including month end processes, revenue management (accrued and deferred income) Senior stakeholder management experience Highly Proficient in Excel Experience in creating new processes, tools, and reports Strong financial system skills (desirable experience with Dynamics 365) In return, we will offer you: Competitive salary Benefits that include: Pension (4%), WeCare ERP + Toothfairy, Perkbox, Taste Card 24 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing 1 day per year up to 29 days) Ongoing support to enable you to fulfil your role to the best of your potential Opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment Career growth and development opportunities Supportive and inclusive company culture Ready to make your mark on our bottom line?
