Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified CIMA (or equivalent).
  • Educated to A-Level standard or higher.
  • Proven experience working within a group structure.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP Business One.
  • Confident user of Excel with intermediate-level skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Holds a clean UK driving licence.
  • Willing and able to travel to other RED sites on an ad hoc basis.
  • Sharp analytical mindset with strong review and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the Head Office Accounts team, the Management Accountant will support the Head of Finance in delivering timely monthly management reports, managing cashflow, and business partnering with relevant departments. The role also plays a key part in preparing annual budgets and acts as the first point of contact for manual payments, expenses, and other finance admin tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cashflow Management:Oversee daily cashflow, bank reconciliations, and postings, flagging and explaining any variances.
  • Management Reporting & Audit: Prepare accurate monthly management accounts with full P&L and balance sheet analysis, manage accruals/prepayments, maintain fixed asset registers, and support annual audit requirements, with the support from the wider finance team as required.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:Build and maintain budget models, ensuring provided inputs are accurate and compare monthly actuals with the budget model.
  • Business Partnering:Collaborate with business unit leads to understand operations and provide financial insight, ensuring all variances are clearly explained.
  • Finance Administration:Process IS invoice uploads, payments (including IF transfers), employee expenses, mileage, and credit card analysis. Verify bank details for new suppliers and employees.
  • Ad-hoc Support: Provide cover and assistance across the finance team during holidays and absence.
