Sewell Wallis are recruiting for a Management Accountant for a fantastic events company based in Leeds!
This West Yorkshire business has grown year on year and is working with PE funding. The successful candidate will be working for a approx. 20 mil turnover SME, overseeing the management accounts for the different business entities, managing a small team and growing the business, closely working with the Finance Director.
If you are successful in achieving this Management Accountant role, you’ll have fantastic career development within this business, not only is the FD a great mentor from a reputable Big 4 background, the intention is to promote internally to Finance Manager within the year given you tangible progression plans to a No.2 position.
This company is looking for someone switched on, has excellent attention to detail and with real drive, who is looking for a role that they can make real business changes and influence growth, ideal for someone hands on!

WHAT SKILLS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Qualified Accountant, or close to qualifying (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly technical
  • 3 years in a finance department, ideally within a SME
  • Confident with Excel
  • Experience managing a small team
  • Sage Intacct experience would be desirable but certainly isn’t essential
Responsibilities
  • Ownership of the monthly management accounts for 4 entities
  • Month end journal entries with analysis and documentation
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Collaboration and liaising with internal and external stakeholders and advisors as required to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Post bank accounts and assist with cash flow
  • Vat returns
  • Inter-company reconciliations
  • Payroll for a small team
  • Lead the year end audit and statutory account preparation
  • Mentor and lead team members
