Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our financial team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. Your expertise in corporate accounting, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting will drive the organization’s financial health and growth. Tasks Key Responsibilities Support the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including schedules and journal postings Coordinate the month-end close and ensure reporting deadlines are met Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals and reconciliations Reconcile General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis and highlight significant or unusual items Ensure accurate processing and reconciliation of VAT, including quarterly VAT returns and control accounts Maintain VAT records and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines Manage daily cashbook updates and complete monthly bank reconciliations by the required deadline Identify and correctly code capital expenditure, applying appropriate depreciation policies Support the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors during the annual audit Provide information to group and statutory auditors to ensure timely release of accounts Payroll, PAYE & CIS Understand and apply Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) regulations Identify CIS subcontractors and determine correct payment methods Prepare and submit monthly CIS returns for authorisation Reconcile weekly payroll reports, investigate variances, and ensure accuracy Prepare monthly PAYE payment schedules in line with balance sheet reconciliations Additional Duties Complete and submit National Statistics questionnaires on time Assist with general filing and archiving as required Provide cover for holidays and absences within the accounts team Support other areas of the accounts function as needed Requirements About You Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar role Strong understanding of VAT, PAYE, and CIS (construction industry experience desirable) Confident with reconciliations, journals, and month-end processes Highly organised with strong attention to detail Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders Benefits What We Offer A stable role within a supportive finance team Exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities Opportunity to work closely with senior finance leadership Competitive salary based on experience
