Description

Are you a qualified accountant looking to take the next step in your career? Do you want to gain leadership skills, and make an impact in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment? If so, Zenith has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Commercial Finance team as a Management Accountant.
As the UK’s largest independent vehicle solutions provider, Zenith is at the forefront of the transition to sustainable vehicle solutions. With ambitious growth plans and a transformative £25 million programme underway, there’s never been a better time to join our team and be part of our journey.
Our Commercial Finance team is a newly formed, high-performing group that presents a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to help establish best practices, drive cultural change, and support our major finance transformation programme. This role is ideal for someone passionate about enhancing financial performance, streamlining processes, and delivering insightful financial analysis.
In this position, you will supervise and mentor an Assistant Accountant while taking ownership of the management accounts for a key segment of our business. You’ll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, including the Financial Controller and Finance Director, providing detailed insights into financial data, variances, and trends. Your contributions will be pivotal in enhancing processes and supporting the transformation of our finance function.

WHAT CAN YOU OFFER

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a proactive mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional results. You’ll bring:

  • Management Accounting Expertise: Previous experience in a management accounting role within a multi-divisional group structure, with a proven track record in financial reporting, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong Accounting Knowledge: A solid understanding of accounting principles, including experience preparing management accounts, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) and experience working with large volumes of data from multiple systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to Detail: A collaborative, results-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability: A willingness to learn, embrace change, and contribute to process improvements during a major finance transformation programme.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare Accurate Management Accounts: Deliver timely and precise monthly management accounts for our contract fleet services entity, including comprehensive variance analysis and insightful commentary.
  • Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reviewed regularly, with timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Provide valuable insights and analysis to inform decision-making during the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Uphold compliance with all accounting policies and practices while ensuring robust internal controls are in place.
  • Act as a trusted advisor within the wider Commercial team, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive financial performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, embracing new technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the development of a high-performing Commercial Finance team by mentoring and coaching junior accountants.
