Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP is seeking a Southern California Offices Branch Manager to oversee administrative operations across our offices in Los Angeles, Riverside, Palm Desert, Orange County, Camarillo, and San Diego. This is a key leadership role that ensures our administrative and legal support functions run smoothly and efficiently. This role is a hybrid position, contingent upon the business needs of the offices it oversees.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Minimum of 5 – 8 years of progressive managerial experience, preferably in a legal or professional services setting.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to visit all six office locations at a regular cadence.
  • Ability to navigate interpersonal challenges with professionalism and escalate matters that require the attention of senior personnel.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology.
Responsibilities

Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and oversee administrative staff across the Los Angeles, Riverside, Palm Desert, Orange County, Camarillo, and San Diego offices. Responsibilities include coordinating, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Coordinate daily secretarial coverage and workload distribution to ensure appropriate coverage during absences or to assist with work overflow, based on the needs of the attorneys.
  • Manage and oversee the maintenance and repair of office equipment and office facilities in all six offices.
  • Manage the office supply budget and oversee inventory.
  • Coordinate in-office meetings, depositions, “war rooms,” and other office space demands. Oversee logistics, including catering, IT/Technology coordination, and setup of shared spaces across all six offices.
  • Coordinate office and secretarial bay assignments, reassignments, and moves.
  • Coordinate and assign secretarial support to attorneys or attorney teams.
  • Manage and allocate unassigned office space to visiting attorneys and personnel as requested.
  • Act as a champion of Burke firmwide policies and procedures by promoting consistency, professionalism, and adherence to established administrative practices.
