Job Description Job Purpose As the Management Accountant you will report to the Financial Controller. Primary duties will include, but will not be restricted to, the following Role and Responsibilities Responsibility for producing monthly financial information to include project financial reporting and revenue recognition, trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet and variance analysis in line with reporting requirements and deadlines. Working closely with the Project Teams to ensure correct and accurate reporting of project costs and prepare and report on project performance against budget for revenue, costs and cash flow. Responsible for producing Project Dashboards for inclusion in internal board reporting. Responsible for provision of accurate and timely management information to the Financial Controller and Senior Management Team to support decision-making. Assist the Financial controller in the maintenance and application of appropriate disciplines, formal procedures, and financial controls to all aspects of business activity. Assist with the maintenance of an effective financial control environment, with responsibility for producing the management accounts monthly. Prepare the business unit’s monthly management accounts, including revenue, balance sheet and cash flow; reporting against budget on a monthly basis to the financial controller and general manager. On project accounting, work with the project team in anticipating and reporting risks that might create delay to the milestones; propose corrective actions to assist the project team to complete on time. Assist with the preparation of periodic financial budgets and forecasts, ad hoc reports, and analysis of business activity. Assist with the preparation of the statutory accounts of the company and assist in management of the external audit. Provide assistance to the Financial Controller and Senior Management in the appraisal of commercial projects and business opportunities. Provide ad hoc financial analysis as required. Set up capital and revenue projects within the SAP ERP system and at inception of each project, including correct allocation of Cost Baseline Budgets, Margins, Revenue and cash plans in line with approved budget. Qualifications Essential Criteria ACA/ACCA/CIMA or a similar qualification 2 + years post qualification experience (essential) within engineering, construction or manufacturing environment (desirable) Excellent understanding of accounting processes and the need for appropriate controls in place. Demonstrable experience in the use of accounting software such as SAP or similar ERP software across sales ledger, purchase ledger and nominal ledger Practical experience in the use of Data Analytics tools.
