Shift: 7a-3:30p Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Acts as a project leader responsible for the successful planning, scheduling, and completion of multiple operations planning and improvements projects. Utilizes a systems methodology to analyze organizational systems and processes, to make recommendations for operation improvements and to coordinate the implementation of changes, working through individual and team approaches. Coordinates and supervises the work of a project team. Reviews and coordinates team member work plans. Facilitates and guides redesign teams and process improvement teams. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Assists in analysis of facility needs including work flow analysis, space programming, functional layout design, and simulation technology. Utilizes a systems approach to analyze organizational or departmental operational systems and processes; applies various industrial engineering techniques. Assists departmental management or teams throughout the project and during implementation of recommended changes. Prepares and conducts research prior to initiation of projects to provide state of the art approaches and solutions to problems. Prepares detailed work plans for completion of projects. Informs department director of project status on an on-going basis. Verifies, updates, and analyzes comparative databases containing operational and clinical data to support hospital benchmarking efforts and to support planning and operational decisions. Designs, prepares, and generates reports; determines customer needs; and collects, organizes, and analyzes data. Assists departments in analyzing operational and clinical data using statistical tools including process control charts, regression analysis, and forecasting. Provides technical support to performance improvement teams on the use of TQM tools and collecting and analyzing data. May conduct educational sessions related to statistical process control. Performs other related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field. Three years directly related work experience. Masters degree may substitute for experience. Experience as a project leader. A working knowledge of multiple computer software applications. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (MediumMax 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
