Description
Manager – Accounting & Compliance (Statutory CoE) Budapest | Hybrid (2 office / 3 home office days) Our client is a global leader in industrial packaging solutions, delivering essential, high-quality products and systems to key industries worldwide. With a proven track record of consistent growth and operational excellence, the company is strengthening its Budapest-based Global Business Services Centre (GBSC) to drive efficiency, standardization, and best-in-class shared services across its international operations. This is a rare, high-impact leadership opportunity to join at a truly pivotal moment. The Statutory function is currently centralizing into a professional Centre of Excellence in Budapest. As Manager – Accounting & Compliance, you will lead the stabilization and professionalization of global statutory reporting and compliance processes, while building and developing a high-performing team in a dynamic, international environment. Your key responsibilities will include: Leading the end-to-end preparation, review, and timely delivery of statutory financial statements and compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions (primarily EMEA with growing APAC exposure). Managing, mentoring, and inspiring a team of 5-6 talented professionals as part of the newly established Statutory CoE. Driving successful process transitions, documentation (SOPs), standardization, harmonization, and automation initiatives – turning the current maturation phase into a model of efficiency and quality. Acting as a trusted business partner to Legal Entity leadership and collaborating closely with global functions such as FP&A, Tax, Legal, and GBSC teams. Ensuring outstanding audit outcomes, SOX compliance, and on-time filings while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high engagement. Contributing to change management and long-term process excellence in a fast-paced yet supportive setting. We are looking for a leader who: Brings 10+ years of strong experience in statutory reporting and multi-jurisdictional compliance, ideally within a Shared Services / GBS or multinational environment. Has proven managerial success in leading teams through transitions, change initiatives, and periods of growth. Combines excellent technical accounting expertise with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach and strong process improvement / project management skills. Thrives in dynamic, evolving environments and demonstrates resilience, proactivity, and a servant-leadership style. Communicates fluently in English (additional languages are a strong advantage). Is passionate about quality, team development, and creating visible, lasting impact. What our client offers: Competitive compensation package with attractive benefits (including cafeteria and premium health insurance). Modern hybrid working model (3 home office days + 2 office days) with dedicated team collaboration days. The unique opportunity to shape and professionalize a global Statutory Centre of Excellence during its exciting growth phase. International exposure with minimal travel – most collaboration is handled online. A stable, people-focused multinational environment where your leadership, process improvements, and contributions will be highly visible and valued. Genuine long-term career development potential in a growing organization with a strong focus on operational excellence and colleague engagement.
