The Accounting Manager is responsible for the oversight and execution of general ledger accounting, respective of their assigned business units or processes within Doma Holdings Inc. The Accounting Manager will serve as a key resource to the Finance Leadership, and play a critical role is sourcing and developing Accounting Seniors and Staff. The Accounting Manager is a business partner to colleagues in areas they support, often taking part in multiple projects and initiatives. A qualified candidate will have experience in industry and/or public accounting and the desire to work in a changing environment where they have the change to contribute to process improvement. Key Responsibilities Ensure timely and accurate closing of the books for monthly, quarterly, and annual periods Drive month-end close improvement, including but not limited to, optimized use of systems, integrations, and centralized processing to drive efficiency and effectiveness in reporting and close tasks Identify process improvement and/or automation opportunities and implement solutions that improve timeliness and accuracy of operational processes that impact financial transactions Support the Controller to facilitate monthly account reconciliation reviews and review of monthly results through analytics Collaborate with Finance and the Business in developing and supporting financial analyses and reporting Participate in cross-functional initiatives and assist other functions in improving their interface with the Accounting Team Build and develop a high-performing team through training and identification of opportunities for seniors and staff to grow in their knowledge and experience Promote Doma’s cultural values and support colleague engagement initiatives Build, execute, and promote a strong internal control environment Minimum Qualifications Level of Education (Minimum): Bachelors Degree Type of Education (Minimum): Accounting, Finance, Business Years of Experience (Minimum): 5 - 7 years of experience Core Competencies Major ERP system experience, NetSuite experience preferred Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel skills preferred Understanding of GAAP accounting Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and develop staff Analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills Team player who works well in a changing environment Shown below is the lowest to highest base salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the base salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. At Doma, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
