The Financial and Property Management Branch within the Ministry of Environment is seeking a highly motivated, conscientious, innovative, and strategic leader for a 12-month term position of Manager, Accounts Receivable/Revenue. Using your leadership skills, attention to detail, innovation, and management expertise, you will create and support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement for financial services within the Ministry. This position reports to the Manager of Registry and Finance and its main responsibilities include:

  • Manages Accounts Receivable/Revenue Staff and ensures daily functions are in compliance with the Financial Administration Manual, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Provincial Auditor requirements.
  • Works directly with the Ministry of Parks, Culture, and Sport on all services related to Accounts Receivable and Revenue. Ensures that systems and procedures used by online and in-park offices comply with the Ministry’s financial processes, and policies.
  • Responsible for making sound decisions while working directly with customer accounts, collections/bad debts, monthly bank reconciliations, revenue reporting, and invoicing.
  • Ensures appropriate priorities and levels of resources are in place, through staffing actions, schedules, work plans, and work environment.
  • Provides leadership for the development and implementation of new initiatives, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Overseas revenue audit completion for all sales at Provincial Parks and Field Offices.
  • Reviews and recommends new processes related to changes in systems and procedures for effective and efficient daily operations.
  • Oversees MIDAS Financials, Accounts Receivable month-end, to ensure the reconciliation is complete.
  • Develops and delivers Account Receivable/Revenue training to staff members and to the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport’s staff as needed.

To qualify for this position, the successful candidate will typically have at least one year of management experience and possess an accounting designation or diploma. This position is a 12-month term.
