Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Contributes to the overall success of the execution of multiple technical projects in the Technology, Project Governance, PMO and Reporting office in Canada and LATAM countries ensuring that these technology projects align with the organization’s objectives, accomplishing goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in time, quality, cost and scope. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Plan, design, implement and execute all-bank wide projects that are aimed at advancing goals and priorities and ensuring deadlines are met and resources and teams are optimally executing.
  • Execute multiple projects and initiatives at the All-Bank level with technology and business lines. Manage cross-functional teams, design and develop roadmaps, issue identification, analysis to assess impact on financials and presenting compelling recommendations.
  • Support the quality assurance process for Regulatory Changes and OSFI Audits by verifying completeness, identifying gaps in obligations (current and upcoming), ensuring key controls are in place, and confirming accurate mapping to relevant risk categories and impacted business units.
  • Monitor assessments and action plan progress, evaluate industry trends and regulatory expectations, and assess risk impacts, particularly in cases of implementation delays.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory risks by maintaining oversight of applicable regulations, providing guidance to project teams, and addressing issues raised in regulatory and audit reports. Oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support the creation of a governance structure to identify key stakeholders and develop and execute a stakeholder communication plan. Managing stakeholder expectations and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to internal governance frameworks (e.g., EDF, PPM standards).
  • Ensure the establishment and maintenance of a centralized repository for project artifacts, supporting audit readiness and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Execute problem solving, risk leverage and mitigation, with cross-functional teams, business lines and Technology, remove obstacles and escalate when necessary.
  • Present projects progress and apply implementation controls that manage trade-offs and keep deliverables and milestones on track and on time, including proactive mitigation of project risks.
  • Control overall projects budget, accomplishing funding strategy and project efficiency, including budgeting, financial analysis, performance measurement, vendor and contract management and expense management.
  • Support the implementation of Data Management, Cloud, Software Currency, Hardware Currency, Modernization, Regulatory and Transformation projects among others, across the region, working closely with project teams to monitor and optimize the performance of data, software currency, hardware currency, modernization, and Transformation pipelines, ensuring that they meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards.
  • Synthesize findings, report regular status, and present clear recommendations and implementation plans to ensure impactful project outcomes to Director & Head, Technology Project Governance, PMO & Reporting and stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor key metrics, reviews, and measurements to accomplish project outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in project management including agile, ensuring that lessons learned from previous projects are applied and optimize future projects.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
