JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Manager of Agronomic Consulting Services, you will combine your leadership skills as well as play a pivotal role in growth of the business in Wisconsin and surrounding states.
Our professional team of agronomists and field staff include soil sampling, crop scouting, preparation of Nutrient Management Plans and agronomic consulting for farms, coops, ag retailors and various other customers in the agricultural value chain.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a Certified Crop Advisor (state of WI preferred; any additional state is acceptable)
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an agronomic related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in Nutrient Management Plan writing or Precision Agriculture
  • Prior experience in a people leadership role
  • Prior sales experience is highly desired; this role will have accountability to revenue generation
Responsibilities
  • Develop New Revenue: Promote AgSource agronomic services in Wisconsin and surrounding states and seek opportunities to expand services with existing customers and enroll new accounts.
  • Work with the sales team to support continued development of the current book of business and support prospecting for new accounts
  • Establish relationships with current and potential customers
  • Work to position AgSource as the leading agronomy service provider
  • The manager will consult with customers, governmental agencies and other stakeholders involved directly and indirectly in the services.
  • The manager will track sales progress with regular updates to the Managing Director.
  • Team Leadership/Management:
  • Overall P&L responsibility (annual budget, monthly invoicing and sales commissions calculations
  • Hiring, training, onboarding, and development of team
  • Annual training plan to ensure achievement of continuing education requirements for CCA licenses
  • Annual performance review process
  • Inventory management (i.e. purchasing of equipment and supplies)
