Description:

The role In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and providing program management and operational support to enhance patient safety and quality indicators. This includes reviewing and developing clinically relevant indicators, identifying new statistical methodologies, and adapting them to meet Queensland Health’s needs. You will also design and conduct high-level statistical analyses of various data collections for use by Hospital and Health Services (HHS) and other Queensland Health units. Additionally, you will develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems for the ongoing statistical analysis of patient safety information to assist in planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation. Managing patient safety and quality dashboards, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality project outcomes by promoting and utilizing appropriate project management and change management techniques, methodologies, and tools.
You will stay abreast of contemporary international best practices in patient safety and quality analysis and reporting, including change management, staff and patient engagement, and sustainable compliance excellence. Your role will also involve managing project resources, expenses, and capital costs, building and leading a team focused on continuous improvement, and initiating and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Providing expert advice to senior management, contributing to budget development, and ensuring compliance with human resource practices and policies are also key responsibilities.
The successful personTo excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate exceptional capability in leading and managing the development of patient safety and quality indicators, as well as analysing patient safety data. This involves applying project management and change management methodologies throughout all project phases to achieve objectives within set time and budget constraints. Additionally, you will need to utilize sound judgment, advanced problem-solving, and issue management skills, along with the ability to synthesize information from various sources.
Moreover, you should possess outstanding communication skills, with a particular emphasis on managing stakeholder relationships effectively. This includes providing expert, authoritative advice to senior management and stakeholders and preparing detailed, accurate submissions, briefings, and reports. You will also need a proven track record in leading teams, setting direction, and motivating staff, fostering an environment where employees are valued, developed, and coached to reach their full potential.
