Description
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of technical personnel engaged in anesthesia services for the purpose of assisting physicians and CRNA's in the delivery of quality patient care. Responsibilities: Recommends the integration of advancements when practical and cost effective. Communicates department and Hospital policies and procedures to staff and enforces their adherence. Participates in the yearly budgeting process, both capital and operational, together with the Director Provides technical guidance, assistance and troubleshooting with anesthesia equipment. Responsible for procuring and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment adequate for efficient operations. Assists with developing, revising, and implementing departmental policies and procedures. Assures efficient work flow patterns; delineation of duties/responsibilities/daily assignments; suitable staffing levels; appropriate supervision; and mechanisms for timely communication of pertinent information. In conjunction with Director, provides input to interviews and hiring decisions relative to anesthesia technicians. Assures and monitors employee conformance with safety standards. Ensures that the technical staff conforms to standards and guidelines promulgated by pertinent governmental and regulatory bodies. Ensures that all quality control tests and procedures are conducted and documented and that performance of all equipment is accurate within established parameters in collaboration with Biomedical. Remains abreast of developments in the field of Anesthesia Technician management by pursuing a program of self-development. Evaluates the performance of the technicians. Responsible for orientation and competency assessment of technicians. Plans, organizes, and directs the day to day activities of anesthesia technician services and staff Responsible for the care, handling, and servicing of departmental equipment and secures necessary repairs in collaboration with Biomedical Department. High School Diploma or GED or Graduate from an accredited Anesthesia Tech school with and 5 years of progressive anesthesia technician experience required OR HS Diploma or Graduate from an accredited Anesthesia Tech school and Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) OR ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T.T.) with and 4 years of progressive anesthesia technician experience required.
