Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently seeking a Manager of Application Development to report to the SVP, Head of Wealth Management Technology. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful development, implementation, delivery, support, and maintenance of application software within our Canadian operations. This management position requires overseeing a development team and managing projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide hand-on technical direction to the development team, and consultative services to business analysts, project managers and consultants, as required.
- Establishes standards and policies as they relate to the development environment.
- Contributes to overall IT customer satisfaction by consistently meeting application development requirements in a timely fashion, delivering a quality product.
- Oversee monitoring and troubleshooting of production issues, ensuring the stability of deployed applications.
- Meets on a regular basis with stakeholders to explore new opportunities and requirements.
- Contributes to IT strategic planning as facilitated by SVP, IT.
- Contributes to the development of capacity plans.
Skills & Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or technical college diploma in a related area preferable or commensurate qualification and / or experience.
- 6 – 10 years in the Information Technology industry with a minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Expertise with Microsoft Technologies, including Microsoft Azure.
- Comprehension of database technologies such as SQL.
- Prefer experience with Pega.
- Strong customer services skills and attitude.
- Sound leadership skills and high emotional intelligence (EQ).
- Experience with budgeting.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience leading a development team.
- Experience working within an Agile ecosystem.
- A sound understanding of application design and architecture.
- Comprehension and experience working with development methodologies.
