This role is ideal for a strong leader with shipbuilding experience who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-focused project environment. In this key leadership position, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all ship construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You will plan and sequence work, coordinate trades, manage resources, resolve constraints and maintain strong communication with project stakeholders including subcontractors and Defence representatives.   The Role Lead a safety-first culture and ensure all construction planning aligns with HSE standards. Support the development of shipbuilding strategies, plans and detailed schedules. Ensure construction activities are fully resourced, correctly sequenced and delivered on time. Coordinate temporary services (scaffolding, power, lighting) to support efficient workflow. Drive productivity improvements through better systems, processes and workshop optimisation. Support planning, programming and completion schedules. Coach, develop and mentor team members to build capability and consistency. Maintain strong communication with Ship Managers, project teams and client representatives.   About You Relevant Tertiary Degree and/or Trade Qualification Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role Strong background in the shipbuilding industry Excellent communication, leadership and negotiation skills Strong problem-solving ability and an eye for innovation Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills Experience working with the Department of Defence 7+ years’ shipbuilding experience in a similar role Advanced MS Word and Excel skills  Civmec + YouAt Civmec, we offer an inclusive workplace built on family values, with a ‘Never Assume’ culture, sustained by our experienced and supportive management team.
