Description

The Manager, Assessment and Evaluation (the “Manager") will serve the as the manager for Sheridan’s Assessment and Evaluation Hub within SPARK, The Sheridan Centre for Academic Excellence, responsible operationalizing this innovative initiative. The Manager applies expertise in assessment and academic leadership to build a transformative hub that empowers faculty and programs to implement Universal Design for Learning principles, integrate artificial intelligence(AI) in ethical and pedagogically sound ways, and adopt authentic assessment practices that align with evolving delivery models and support program sustainability. The Manager champions innovative assessment approaches ensuring all project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards over a two-year project timeline.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master’s or doctorate degree in Assessment and Evaluation, Digital Pedagogy, Instructional Design or related field
  • Along with formal training or certification in Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
  • 5 years of in-depth experience as a senior practitioner with demonstrated:
  • Extensive experience in assessment theory, with a practical lens for institutional application.
  • Extensive experience infusing AI and UDL into Assessments and Evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workshops and faculty consultations, facilitating collaborative design of assessments.
  • Familiarity with data-informed decision-making, including assessment analytics dashboards and academic metric tracking.
  • Deep knowledge of creating digital content for instructional purpose.
  • Experience creating communities of practice and ensuring demonstrated results.
  • Experience in Project Management and Reporting
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional faculty teams, manage institutional projects, and support change management.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate theory into practice and promote a culture of innovation and inclusivity in assessment

Responsibilities
  • Developing, implementing, and facilitating comprehensive assessment training programs.
  • Designs Assessment Institute curriculum focused on AI-responsive assessment, UDL principles, and creative assessment methods
  • Planning and executing faculty workshops addressing current assessment challenges
  • Developing assessment templates, rubrics, and frameworks specific to each program needs.
  • Creating and refining Institute materials based on participant feedback and emerging assessment trends
  • Establishes evaluation mechanisms to measure Institute effectiveness and participant satisfaction
  • Creating, curating and maintaining assessment resources and institutional knowledge systems.
  • Creating and maintain online repository of best practices, case studies, and assessment tools
  • Documenting innovative assessment case studies from supported programs
  • Providing direct assessment consultation and capacity-building support to faculty and programs.
  • Delivering individual faculty consultations on assessment redesign and innovation
  • Providing targeted support to programs undergoing major assessment transformation
  • Facilitates faculty assessment networks and communities of practice
  • Conducting assessment audits and provide recommendations for program improvement
  • Supporting new program development with assessment planning and design expertise
  • Offering specialized consultation on AI-responsive assessment strategies and academic integrity
  • Mentoring faculty champions to extend assessment innovation beyond the Hub’s direct reach
  • Leading all project planning, execution, monitoring, and stakeholder management activities. Develops and maintains comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestone tracking systems.
  • Coordinating with SPARK leadership, Faculty representatives, and external partners to ensure alignment with program delivery.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies (e.g. faculty engagement challenges).
  • Preparing monthly progress reports for project.
  • Facilitating project meetings, stakeholder consultations, and cross-functional collaboration sessions
  • Oversees transition planning from project phase to operational status in Year 2
  • Designing and delivering onboarding and training programs for new team members
  • Coordinating team workflows and ensure effective collaboration.
  • Conducting regular team meetings and individual check-ins to maintain project momentum
  • Performing other initiatives and activities as required.
