Work across the organisation and influence investment planning decision making Huge variety of assets Based in our Petone office close to the beach and shops This is a full time position of 40 hours per week The opportunity The Asset Planning Manager leads the Asset Planning team to develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies that ensure sustainable water services, enhance operational efficiency, and promote the organisation’s growth in asset management expertise. This role focuses on leveraging accurate data, condition assessments, performance metrics, and risk-based approaches to inform decision-making. You will get to: Lead, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary asset planning team Lead the maturity development and maintenance of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) Utilise lifecycle cost, risk, and economic analysis alongside asset performance frameworks, condition monitoring, and risk analytics to inform asset planning, and maintenance strategies Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, regulators and consultants About you To be successful in this role you will bring: Significant experience in asset management, planning, or engineering in the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors A degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental) or related infrastructure discipline or equivalent relevant experience Demonstrated ability to lead development of SAMPs, AMPs, or other regulated asset planning documents The ability to bridge day-to-day operations with long-term strategic planning A collaborative, pragmatic approach and strong relationship management skills Benefits At Wellington Water, our purpose extends beyond delivering great water services for the region; we foster a thriving community, support a diverse workforce, and offer supportive development opportunities.
