About the position:
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Manager/Associate Director to join our Sustainability Assurance Technical team. You will play a key role in supporting the sustainability assurance engagement team. As part of our team, you will develop detailed methodologies and resources for conducting sustainability assurance engagements, helping them to navigate the rapidly changing regulatory environment and meet the highest standards of sustainability assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
Methodology & Technical Development:
- Develop and/or maintain comprehensive methodologies and procedures for sustainability assurance engagements.
- Draft technical guidance, templates, and examples to support engagement teams in delivering consistent and high-quality sustainability assurance engagements.
- Draft technical guidance, templates and examples to support engagement teams in understanding the connectivity considerations and boundaries of different sections in the annual report.
- Stay up to date with evolving sustainability standards, regulatory frameworks, and trends.
- Build and maintain detailed knowledge of sustainability assurance standards, legislation and other requirements.
Collaboration & Team Building:
- Establish strong relationships with audit and assurance teams, working with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to sustainability assurance.
- Mentor junior staff and support their development through coaching and guidance in task delivery.
- Collaborate with other departments across Grant Thornton to deliver top-tier client services.
Technical Support & Consultation:
- Provide comprehensive support to engagement teams conducting sustainability assurance engagements, ensuring the delivery of accurate and reliable assurance.
- Research complex sustainability assurance issues and provide practical solutions to assurance, audit and consulting teams.
Training & Development:
- Prepare and deliver content for internal training sessions, equipping engagement teams with the knowledge and skills needed to perform sustainability assurance engagements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A Qualified Accountant - e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA qualified. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in practice or industry.
- Knowledge of sustainability- and corporate reporting environments and the interconnectivity with financial reporting.
- Detailed knowledge of ISA (Ireland).
- Understanding of ISAE 3000 (Revised), ISAE Ireland 3000 ISAE 3410 and ISSA 5000 (ED).
- Understanding or awareness of sustainability reporting frameworks and standards e.g. ESRS, IFRS S1 and S2, TCFD, GRI etc.
- Understanding of financial reporting frameworks, preferably IFRS, IFRS as adopted by the EU, UK-adopted International Accounting Standards.
- Desire to be part of a high performing team covering a range of sustainability matters, in a dynamic, challenging environment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfort and ability in presenting complex topics.
- Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint etc.
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
- Ability to foster, maintain and grow relationships across key stakeholders
