At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.  Shape the future of internal audit by enhancing quality, technical methodology, and stakeholder engagement Full time ongoing opportunity Based in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available Salary ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 p.a. plus super and annual leave loading About the roleLead and strengthen the internal audit function, by ensuring audits are delivered to the highest professional standards, maintain robust methodology, and foster continuous improvement across tools, training, and stakeholder engagement.   You will be responsible for: Developing and maintaining the Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) Leading periodic internal quality reviews Enhancing internal audit methods, tools, templates and providing guidance on standards, regulations, and key areas like ESG, and IT controls Developing audit analytics, automation and technology to support audits. About you  Extensive internal audit experience, including leadership roles Experience with audit tools (e.g., TeamMate, ACL, IDEA, Power BI) Strong understanding of IIA Standards, risk frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000), and regulatory expectations Exceptional stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Essential requirements of the role Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent workplace experience.
