We are seeking a Manager Basin Salinity Management to lead a skilled team to meet Victoria’s obligations under Basin Salinity Management 2030 and ongoing implementation of the Victorian Irrigation Drainage Program. This role will requires the successful applicant to combine their technical, policy and leadership skills to represent Victoria in the Basin Salinity Management 2030 Strategic Review, maintain Victoria’s compliance with salinity obligations under the Commonwealth’s Water Act 2007, implement the salinity management framework outlined in the Victorian Government’s Manual for Victoria’s Salinity Accountability in the Murray-Darling Basin, and deliver a catchment focused irrigation drainage program.
These established programs are entering an exciting period of strategic and policy work that will determine the future program direction of salinity and irrigation drainage programs in Victoria. The role will require close collaboration with Catchment Management Authorities, Rural Water Corporations, Agriculture Victoria, all jurisdictions within the Murray Darling Basin and other key stakeholders.
