Description

The Manager, Business Development at the Academy for Professional and Continuing Education (NTU PACE) - the lifelong learning arm of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) - plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering impactful learning solutions for working professionals and organisations.
The primary focus of this role is learning solutioning - identifying customer and industry needs and designing programmes that support workforce transformation. The Manager will take the lead in developing tailored proposals, co-creating programmes with internal and external stakeholders, and engaging customers through consultative selling.
Beyond solutioning, the role includes responsibilities in product development, strategic partnerships, programme execution, and lead conversion. Working in close collaboration with programme directors, faculty, industry partners, and internal teams, the Manager ensures that all continuing education offerings are market-driven, learner-focused, and aligned with NTU’s mission of advancing lifelong learning.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in business development, sales, or programme management-ideally in the education, training, or consulting sector.
  • Proven track record in consultative selling and learning solutioning, including the ability to understand customer needs and develop customised proposals.
  • Demonstrated success in lead conversion, pipeline management, and achieving sales/enrolment targets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to pitch ideas and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience managing end-to-end product or programme lifecycles, from planning and marketing to delivery and post-programme review.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and tools for managing leads, customer engagement, and sales reporting.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
Responsibilities
  • Lead learning solutioning efforts by engaging with corporate customers and prospective learners to understand training needs and designing tailored solutions that align with workforce and industry demands.
  • Develop customised programme proposals, working closely with programme directors, faculty, and industry/training partners to bring ideas from concept to market.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned programmes-including the SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) and Short Courses-from planning, launch and marketing, to learner engagement and programme delivery.
  • Drive lead generation and conversion, including responding to enquiries, nurturing leads, and presenting value propositions that result in sign-ups and corporate deals.
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposal materials to customers and stakeholders, clearly articulating the value of NTU PACE’s learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop and execute multi-channel campaigns that drive awareness, interest, and enrolment for programmes.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Team to ensure seamless programme delivery and an excellent learner experience from start to end.
  • Support business development initiatives, including prospecting, relationship-building, customer outreach, and maintaining a strong pipeline of quality leads.
