KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIORS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Relevant university degree (Masters recommended) in related health care discipline, Health Administration or Business Administration, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive leadership responsibility in change management, preferably in home and community health
  • Proven project / program / strategy / change management experiences establishing and delivering complex projects related to business development and new business opportunities
  • Knowledge and experience in home care, hospital, and charitable community support sectors
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Ability to prioritize and self-direct while staying innovative and creative with sound business judgment and integrity
  • Experience working with business intelligence and data
  • Creates a mutually respectful, motivating, and supportive environment for open communication with colleagues
  • Displays a professional, positive, results-oriented attitude and maintains enthusiasm
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking/presentations
  • Solid influencing skills

Responsibilities

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Contributes to the development of the SS&P department’s operating plan as it relates to projects to meet key deliverables in alignment with VHA’s vision, mission and core beliefs
  • Works cross-functionally with stakeholders to promote alignment and coordination of shared priority work streams
  • Builds positive working relationships with partners, and influences decision-making and adoption of change initiatives
  • Develops and monitors budget as appropriate and operating plans for new and current projects
  • Participates in the development of Request for Proposal/Service/Expression of Interest Proposals as appropriate
  • In collaboration with VHA leaders, this role facilitates the development of a new business development strategy that will enhance the provision of current services and the development of future business opportunities that are consistent with VHA’s core purpose and strategic plan
  • Leads and coordinates committee meetings at VHA as needed.
  • Creates and maintains VHA’s internal, electronic business development hub on a regular basis
  • Establishes and maintains a comprehensive, ongoing BD project inventory
  • Identifies operational improvement opportunities by monitoring and measuring the organization’s performance in BD projects
  • Strengthen processes and communications related to BD engagement with internal and external stakeholders
  • Designs and implements various care delivery models to organization departments
  • Provides clinical knowledge, support, and supervision for VHA staff assigned to new business development-related and integrated care initiatives
  • Assists in various organization-wide quality improvement/risk management initiatives
  • Functions as a member of the organization’s Manager On-Call Team, handling crisis calls from clients, families, service providers and referring/partner agencies
