Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success.   Come and be a part of this success.  About the Role   In this newly created role, the Manager Campaigns will lead a global team responsible for the development and execution of integrated, always-on global, regional and local advocacy campaigns that build support for BHP's business and policy priorities, protect and enhance BHP's reputation, manage risk and contribute to social value creation.Accountabilities   As the Manager Campaigns you will be accountable for:  Leading the strategic planning processes to identify advocacy and regulatory challenges affecting BHP globally over the next 2-5 years in collaboration with regional team and the business and developing and implementing BHP's global Always-on Advocacy strategy Setting global strategy for, and developing and overseeing always-on, multi-channel advocacy campaigns aimed at informing a range of decision makers (e.g., elected officials, regulators, investors, employees, voters, and the public) to progress agreed short, medium and long-term advocacy priorities Managing campaigns across multiple jurisdictions and time zones, ensuring consistency in messaging while adapting campaign strategies based on local context, changing political and regulatory landscapes, regulatory environments, or stakeholder feedback Identifying potential campaign risks including regulatory, reputational, and competitive threats and ensure appropriate mitigants are in place. Developing actionable and measurable campaign objectives and monitoring and analysing research and campaign performance data to develop and optimise strategy, messaging, and delivery in real-time Integrating campaign activities with broader organisational objectives and risk management Implementing measurement frameworks to assess campaign effectiveness and ROI Leading the development and application of digital campaigning techniques and strategies in an always-on advocacy context. Staying abreast of trends and developments in political advocacy, AI, digital campaigning, and regulatory landscapes and continuously evaluates and implement new campaigning techniques and technologies Governing BHP ‘Always-on Advocacy’ playbook and responsible for building team capabilities in emerging advocacy and campaigning tools and techniques Managing campaign budgets, timelines and ensuring effective resourcing and campaign governance Working closely with cross-functional teams within Corporate Affairs and Communications, External Affairs, the business and external agencies, to execute campaigns and ensure alignment and compliance Managing external vendors and agency partners that support with the strategy and execution of campaigns globally and regionally Overseeing the direction for and day to day management of the global team including planning, budgeting and people development About You   Proven experience in political campaigning, government relations, or public affairs roles or proven track record running advocacy campaigns in highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, financial services, or energy Deep knowledge of campaigning techniques including voter and stakeholder segmentation, message framing, rapid response, coalition building, and legislative advocacy Ability to set a clear, compelling vision for always-on advocacy campaigns including defining long-term objectives and the strategic pathway to achieve sustained influence on key decision makers Proven expertise in developing comprehensive campaign strategies that leverage multiple channels and tactics ensuring consistent and coordinated advocacy efforts Proven experience in managing campaign budgets, personnel, and external vendors efficiently to maximize outcomes within fiscal constraints Mastery of digital campaigning tools and strategies such as social media engagement, digital content creation, online mobilisation, and digital advertising to enhance campaign effectiveness and reach Knowledge of AI tools and approaches a plus, as is hands-on experience using AI in analytics, intelligence gathering, content creation and other aspects of integrated communications Experience managing and motivating a diverse, geographically dispersed team with cultural sensitivity and proven ability to coordinate integrated campaign efforts across different regions and time zones Deep experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in large, diverse businesses, preferably with a global or national geographic footprint Highly competent at data-driven decision making, using analytics and campaign performance metrics to define and refine strategies, optimise resource allocation, and demonstrate impact to stakeholders Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, ensuring campaigns meet legal and ethical standards and align with BHP’s Values and Code of Business Conduct Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking abilities and decision-making abilities and the ability to deal with significant levels of ambiguity Ability to engage and influencing at the most senior levels of the business and with external stakeholder to drive and lead change Ability to “join the dots” between brand, reputation, community, public policy and communications  Highly skilled in adaptive leadership and making informed decisions swiftly, including pivoting campaign strategies in response to evolving political, regulatory, or social environments Highly proficient in establishing and nurturing trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, coalition members, and influencers to amplify campaign reach and ensure coordinated efforts   Open for applications until 10-Dec  About Our Process    At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
