JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the procurement of CAPEX projects for the CEMENT division of the company including process equipment, civil, construction and professional services of Capital Expenditure Projects (CAPEX). Responsible for the CAPEX buyers as direct reports. Will become the subject matter expert for the related sub commodities or suppliers and will be accountable to maximize benefits associated with the strategic sourcing of the portfolio of sub commodities under scope

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • 5 -8 years of experience in project management nd/or sourcing experience in large capital expenditure activities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work under pressure and cope with challenging situations
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation capability: ability to develop and manage complex agreements
  • Familiarity with contract structures (domestic and international), basic legal terms, and legal drafting
  • Sound knowledge of financial concepts (domestic and international), budget management and cost reduction initiatives
  • Project management, leadership skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, ambiguous, and newly forming organization

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas and follow CEMEX Zero 4 Life policy.
  • Provide leadership in the design and implementation of relevant category strategies in support of the Country and Global Procurement and Technical organizations.
  • Develop frame agreements with main / key suppliers in assigned categories.
  • Achieve targets for strategic sourcing activities; spend coverage, compliance rates and benefits generation. Ensure targets are achieved by the Negotiators on the Cement team.
  • Identify potential cost savings, supplier consolidation and bundling opportunities in assigned Categories.
  • Lead cross functional teams through sourcing activities and supplier selection activities including: qualitative and quantitative analysis, selection criteria, RFI and RFP development and analysis.
  • Provide subject matter expertise while working with stakeholders and Legal in negotiation of vendor contracts. Coordinates with Legal and Risk Management and Operations and Health and Safety.
  • Drive, develop and execute negotiation strategy with suppliers while managing supplier performance on a structured basis.
  • Act as lead negotiator to execute complex contracts with large cross functional teams that optimize benefits to the operating company (e.g. performance based contracts) while implementing contracts in business units.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal senior stakeholders (such as Directors, VP, and Executives), key suppliers and third party sourcing partners to enable accelerated achievement of business objectives.
