As the Manager of Central Sterile Processing, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality instrumentation support to the Operating Room. Schedule 5 eight-hour shifts (Monday–Friday) Rotating weekend call Rotating holiday call Your Impact In this role, you will: Lead with Purpose Guide and mentor a team of Central Sterile professionals to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency in instrument processing and distribution. Share your expertise to support staff growth and development. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Remain highly visible and accessible for proactive troubleshooting across the OR and Sterile Processing Department. Independently manage the department during off-shifts, weekends, or in the Director’s absence. Drive Operational Excellence Oversee all sterile processing and surgical supply functions, ensuring service levels meet or exceed expectations. Monitor and analyze activity data, productivity, and performance metrics to identify trends and improve outcomes. Lead initiatives to reduce surgical instrument errors and streamline same-day instrument turnaround. Collaborate with the Operating Room and Purchasing teams on instrumentation ordering, equipment acquisition, and instrument tracking optimization. Ensure appropriate quota levels and supply availability to meet user group needs. Manage People & Performance Select, develop, motivate, and evaluate staff and leaders. Maintain accurate job descriptions and performance standards. Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development support. Promote a respectful, inclusive workplace while addressing performance and behavioral concerns appropriately. Oversee Financial Stewardship Develop and manage operating and capital budgets. Prepare and present monthly variance reports. Ensure responsible resource allocation while maintaining high service standards. Champion Quality & Improvement Integrate best practices, research, and performance improvement tools into daily operations. Represent Surgical Central Processing to hospital user groups on operational, financial, and purchasing matters. Participate in committees and system-wide initiatives. Lead by example in communication, professionalism, and patient-focused service. What You Bring Required Qualifications: Associate degree in Nursing, Business, or related field Minimum 5 years of Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology experience Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team lead experience Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to stand for full shifts and lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds Certifications: Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (provisional certification must be obtained and exam passed prior to moving into role) Act 34 Clearance 10 hours of continuing education annually to maintain certification Why Join Us?
