The RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg is seeking a full-time Manager, Client Services to join our team.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Manager, Client Services will play a key leadership role in overseeing the end-to-end event planning process and ensuring the successful execution of events at the Centre. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for leading the Event Planning Department, acting as the senior liaison for elevated client communications, and championing guest service and recovery initiatives.
This role serves as a critical link between internal planning teams and operational departments, ensuring that all aspects of service delivery are aligned with client expectations and organizational standards. The manager will drive performance, maintain high levels of client satisfaction, and support the Centre’s overall strategic and operational goals through collaboration, leadership, and a commitment to service excellence

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in event planning, catering, or banquets, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in event operations with expertise in food and beverage budgeting and profitability.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience coaching and mentoring a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-first mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, event planning software, and floor planning tools.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality, event management, or a related field is an asset.
  • Certifications such as CMP, CSEP, CWP, or CEM are considered strong assets.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the end-to-end event planning process, ensuring seamless communication and execution across all departments.

  • Maintain and develop operational policies, service standards, and planning protocols in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and recruitment support for the Client Services team.
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Participate in various meetings and committees to support operational and strategic initiatives.
