About the role Leads team of intermediate to experienced Commodity / Account Management & Strategic Sourcing professionals, setting objectives and guiding others on executing and implementing supply chain strategy. Responsible for developing and improving commodity management and sourcing to processes to enhance price, quality, timing, and reliability Carrier Key Responsibilities: A. Team Strategy • Establish clear team priorities through strong strategic thinking and independent decision-making. • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop, align, and continuously refine NPI and ECN RFQ strategies based on changing business needs. • Lead transformation and change initiatives across RFQ processes and the broader supply chain function. • Translate strategic goals into structured, actionable execution plans. • Strengthen the Supply Chain CoE through effective collaboration with global stakeholders, ensuring seamless execution of NPI, ECN, quality, and raw material hedging/blocking strategies. B. Core (Functional) Capabilities • Lead and guide a team handling NPI RFQs, ECN processes, supplier quality audits, and commodity risk management for copper and aluminum. • Apply advanced should-costing expertise across multiple commodities, including plastics, sheet metal, copper/aluminum fabrication, and castings & machining. • Leverage strong knowledge of engineering drawings, sourcing methodologies, cost optimization, RFQ best practices, and negotiation strategies to drive superior outcomes. • Utilize expertise in spend analytics, contracting, and value engineering to enhance sourcing effectiveness. • Partner with Global Commodity Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to align requirements and streamline sourcing activities. • Define, implement, and monitor SLAs while driving continuous performance improvement. People Leadership • Lead with an inclusive and empathetic approach, effectively managing and developing a team of 5–6 members. • Drive a high-performance culture with clear accountability and ownership. • Apply program and change management skills to deliver business objectives. • Influence and negotiate effectively across multiple organizational levels. • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in addressing complex challenges. • Foster collaboration across functions and regions to ensure successful project delivery. • Exhibit a proactive, self-driven approach with strong customer orientation and sense of urgency. • Invest in talent development through coaching, mentoring, and capability building initiatives. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E.) from a premier institute; MBA preferred. • 15+ years of experience in supply chain management, with significant exposure to CoE environments. • Strong expertise in strategic sourcing and procurement practices. • Proven collaboration with engineering teams on new product development (NPD) and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives. • High level of process orientation with a focus on standardization and continuous improvement.
