Work Flexibility: Hybrid Summary The Communications Manager will lead and execute strategic communications for the Medical and NV businesses across Asia Pacific. This role supports business objectives through internal and external communications, issues and crisis management, change management, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with strong storytelling, writing, and interpersonal skills, passion for healthcare, regional experience, and most importantly, a hunger for growth and development. The candidate holds him/herself to high performance standards, has strong work ethics, brings great energy to the team and work, has the ability to work in a matrix organizational setup and inspires trust and credibility among teams and stakeholders. Strategic Communications Planning & Execution: Develops and implements communications strategies aligned with divisional goals to promote and protect Stryker’s business and reputation among internal and external audiences. Brings external insights into the business, shapes and refines strategies to enhance communications outcomes. Identifies gaps and implements processes to improve communications effectiveness. Shares communications best practices with businesses, including communications strategies and plans drive greater consistency and effectiveness. Internal Communications: Crafts and delivers compelling internal messages to support employee engagement such as divisional strategy and vision, leadership updates, organizational shifts. Leads town halls, newsletters, strategic planning, leadership forums, annual sales meetings, and other key internal meetings. Develop, maintain and optimize internal channels and ensure connectivity to rest of the company. External communications: Manages external inquiries and media relationships across APAC, with a focus on medtech and healthcare. Leads/supports Divisional comms campaigns and initiatives targeted at external audiences, working in partnership with Marketing. Liaise with global teams to manage digital and social media content. Issues and crisis communications management Supports the company’s efforts to identify and manage reputational issues in the business. Stays connected to company-level crisis management team, plans and protocols. Leads crisis communications response in the event of issues and crises. Implements crisis management tools and best practices and identify opportunities for evolving. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborates with commercial, cross-functional teams and global communications team to implement strategic communications programs aligned with divisional and business goals. Executive Visibility: Counsels senior leaders on high-impact external engagement opportunities. Shapes messaging and other content for senior leaders for internal and external activities. Writes and edits high-impact content for various internal and external channels, such as newsletters, messages from VP/GMs, townhall presentations. Tracks and reports on communications effectiveness using KPIs and analytics. Continuously optimizes strategies based on insights and feedback. Others: Works collaboratively with communications leads in and outside of APAC to build communications capabilities and advance opportunities that impact business goals. Manages third party communication consultants and agency partners as needed. Holds excellent standards on quality of work and thinking. Works independently with resourcefulness and superb project management skills. Brings great energy to the work and inspires trust and credibility among teams and wider stakeholders. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
