Description

The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all company policies and procedures adhere to regulatory, ethical, and legal standards within the gold refinery industry. The role involves performing regular audits, implementing company policies, conducting compliance training, and designing control systems to prevent violations of internal policies and external regulations. This position requires a proactive and meticulous individual to serve as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and maintain compliance in all aspects of operations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Central Bank of UAE Compliance: Serve as the MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) and liaise with the Central Bank of UAE regarding AML (Anti-Money Laundering) requirements and regulations.
  • Client Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new clients and customers, ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
  • Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive compliance due diligence on prospective and existing clients, ensuring adherence to internal and external policies.
  • KYC Management: Collect, verify, and maintain Know Your Customer (KYC) and other compliance documents to ensure the integrity of client relationships and regulatory compliance.
  • Training and Awareness: Conduct compliance training sessions for senior management and employees, as well as awareness sessions for gold/silver clients to promote understanding and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Internal Auditing: Act as an internal auditor for the compliance department and ISO compliance to identify and mitigate risks and ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations.
  • ISO Management Representation: Serve as the Management’s Representative (MR) for ISO certification, ensuring continuous compliance with ISO standards and regulations.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor company policies and control systems to ensure full compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities and findings, maintaining accurate and complete documentation.
  • Other Duties: Perform other compliance-related duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Applications (MCA), M.Phil., or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the financial services, gold refining, or a similar highly regulated industry.
  • Certifications: Certifications in TFS-DNFBPs, DMCC-AML-CFT, or other relevant AML/CFT certifications.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of government regulations, particularly in AML/CFT.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
