Description
MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE To ensure component availability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance through effective management of component planning, repair, exchange, and leasing activities while overseeing operational performance, vendor management, and inventory investment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees component planning, repair, exchange, and leasing activities to ensure continuous component availability supporting operational and maintenance requirements. Develops and executes component management strategies to ensure efficient rotable support while maintaining optimal inventory levels and capital utilisation. Manages operational performance of component repair, exchange, and leasing programmes to ensure timely component availability and minimise operational disruptions. Oversees rotable planning and provisioning activities to ensure alignment between component demand, repair cycles, and inventory availability. Ensures compliance with airworthiness requirements, regulatory standards, and company procedures related to component control and maintenance support. Manages relationships and performance of repair vendors, pool providers, OEMs, and leasing partners to ensure service quality, contractual compliance, and cost efficiency. Monitors component repair turnaround times, reliability trends, and operational performance to identify risks to component availability and implement mitigation measures. Oversees rotable inventory investment and repair expenditure to ensure alignment with approved budgets and financial targets. Develops and monitors KPIs related to component availability, repair performance, vendor service levels, inventory utilisation, and cost efficiency. Ensures accurate asset management and financial accountability of rotable inventory through effective reconciliation and control processes. Leads continuous improvement initiatives to optimise component planning, repair processes, and inventory performance. Ensures effective cross-functional coordination between Engineering & Maintenance and relevant corporate functions to maintain component availability aligned with maintenance requirements and operational priorities. Provides leadership, coaching, and performance management to the component management team to ensure capability development and effective execution of departmental objectives. Performs budget planning, financial forecasting, and cost control related to component repair, leasing, exchange programmes, and rotable inventory management. Drives management of change activities and associated risk assessments to ensure safe implementation of process, system, and supplier changes within component management. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree (3+ years) Degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, Supply Chain, or related discipline. Fluent in English Extensive experience in aviation component management, rotable provisioning, repair management, or supply chain operations within an airline, MRO, or aviation-related organisation. Strong experience in vendor management, repair programme oversight, inventory control, and operational support within an aircraft maintenance environment. Knowledge of aviation ERP or maintenance systems such as AMOS, TRAX, or equivalent. Strong analytical and reporting capability using Excel or data analysis tools. Years with qualifications: 8 - 10 years Relevant aviation, engineering, or supply chain certifications are an advantage.
