As a Manager within the firm’s Corporate Bookkeeping division, you are the link between your team, clients and internal stakeholders. You will work closely with Directors and Managers across the firm to ensure the team provides clients with high quality corporate bookkeeping services, guidance and advice.  You are accountable for client outcomes across a portfolio, including quality, timeliness, compliance, team performance and workflow delivery. You will provide exceptional leadership to ensure the smooth running of the Corporate Bookkeeping function and drive client loyalty and retention through exceptional service. * Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or similar undergraduate degree.  * Professional certification – CA, CPA or equivalent (advantageous). * Minimum 7 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role within professional services or industry.  * Demonstrated experience servicing complex client needs and managing a large portfolio of work.  * Demonstrated people leadership experience, including workflow management and developing team capability. * Experience reviewing work completed by others (including offshore teams) and driving consistent quality outcomes (advantageous). * Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite (advanced Excel capability preferred for review, analysis and reporting).  * Strong experience using accounting software including Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks (Xero capability essential; MYOB experience advantageous).  * Experience with Management Reporting applications, such as Syft, Spotlight Reporting, Fathom (advantageous). * Collaborative, commercially minded leader with strong client/stakeholder engagement and communication. * Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver to time and budget, with an advisory, service-focused approach. * Detail-oriented, analytical problem-solver who drives continuous improvement and converts business development opportunities. Client Service / Client Delivery * Manage a portfolio of corporate bookkeeping engagements and ensure delivery of high-quality outcomes in a timely manner.  * Develop an in-depth understanding of each client’s circumstances and manage existing client relationships to drive loyalty and retention.  * Oversee the delivery of core services across client portfolios, including bank reconciliations, transaction processing, AP/AR,  payroll, payroll tax, preparation of Activity Statements, and monthly management reporting.  * Oversee client projects, such as setup of accounting software (predominantly Xero), setup of finance function processes, integration of third-party applications, and new client onboarding.  * Provide high-level support on complex client matters and maintain strong client relationships.  Review & Quality Assurance * Review client work and guide team members to ensure firm standards are met.  * Monitor work accuracy and ensure compliance with regulatory quality assurance requirements.  * Develop, implement, and maintain consistent quality-controlled processes that enhance work quality and productivity. * Drive continuous improvement of processes, templates, and technical standards by identifying recurring issues and implementing sustainable solutions. Workflow, Budget & Performance Management * Schedule workflow, allocate resources, and support the team to meet delivery timelines, deadlines, and budgets.  * Prepare engagement budgets and provide real-time reporting against deadlines and budgets.  * Set recoverability targets and monitor billings, collections, and debt recovery.  * Monitor workflow, communicate updates internally and to clients, and keep Directors informed on progress. People Leadership & Team Development * Lead areas of the Corporate Bookkeeping team, ensuring capability and development to meet performance and productivity KPIs. * Delegate effectively and provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to drive performance and a strong team culture. * Train and mentor team members, including reviewing intermediate and offshore work and providing feedback and rework direction as needed. * Contribute to the firm’s technical development and culture through initiatives, training, and development activities. * Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance firm performance. Stakeholder Management (Internal Collaboration) * Build and maintain effective working relationships with Business Advisory, Tax and other service lines to support integrated client outcomes and smooth handover to year end compliance/advisory requirements.  * Work closely with Directors/Managers across the firm to align client delivery, resolve issues and support business objectives.  Business Development * Seek, identify and act on new business opportunities and referral opportunities within the firm.  * Manage client accounts and continue to build client relationships and networks, actively encouraging junior team members to do the same.   * A mid‑tier global accounting network with genuine professional development pathways * Structured learning, technical training and exposure to accountant‑led advisory work * Ownership of corporate, multi‑entity clients not typically seen in small practice * A growing Corporate Bookkeeping team with clear leadership, direction and standards * Opportunity to influence process development and quality as the function scales * Hybrid working arrangement based in a modern Melbourne CBD office * Long‑term, stable role where technical capability and accountability are valued
