Corporate Charters Manager Division: Commercial Department: Corporate Charters Location: Charters Terminal – Port Moresby Reporting to: General Manager – Sales & Marketing Air Niugini is seeking a highly capable and commercially focused Corporate Charters Manager to lead and grow its charter operations portfolio. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management of charter operations, client relationships, and service delivery, while driving sustainable growth across this important revenue segment. The role provides strategic and operational oversight of the Corporate Charters team, charter terminals, and charter outports, ensuring client schedules are maintained, service standards are exceeded, and all safety and operational requirements are met. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening client partnerships and identifying new charter business opportunities. Key Responsibilities Commercial & Client Leadership Drive and grow the charter revenue segment through proactive client engagement and new business development. Manage all charter client agreements, ensuring full compliance with contractual terms and service level obligations. Serve as the primary liaison between charter clients and Air Niugini, ensuring a dedicated point of contact is always available. Maintain strong client relationships through regular meetings and engagement to support operational continuity and growth. Ensure monthly charter client KPIs are met and monitored against contractual requirements. Operational Oversight Act as the focal point between the Operations Control Centre and charter clients to meet fixed-wing charter requirements. Provide oversight of charter terminals and outports, including staff, equipment, and ground handling services. Ensure passenger handling, aircraft servicing, and safety obligations are delivered without disruption. Work closely with the Charter Operations Manager to ensure the charter terminal is safe, clean, and well maintained at all times. Ensure ad hoc charter requirements are delivered in line with client expectations and operational capability. Leadership & Administration Provide leadership oversight of charter and contract outports, including coaching, mentoring, and staff development. Manage staff welfare, rosters, timesheets, leave requests, and training requirements. Respond to and resolve charter client queries, occurrences, and audit findings in a timely and professional manner. Participate in internal and external safety, operational, and client audits. Prepare and contribute to weekly, monthly, and annual client reports, including verification of flight statistics and support for invoicing processes. Decision Making The Corporate Charters Manager is empowered to make operational decisions that enhance charter client service delivery. Strategic and major client-based decisions are undertaken in consultation with the General Manager – Sales & Marketing. Key Challenges Ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of charter operations across multiple ports. Coordinating prompt and effective support from internal divisions to maintain seamless operations. Managing extended hours, including weekends and public holidays, as operational requirements demand. Qualifications & Experience Education Tertiary qualifications are essential. Degree in Business Management, Hospitality, or a related discipline is desirable. Experience & Knowledge Proven experience managing airport or outport operations. 3-5 years management experience Strong understanding of charter operations, contracts, and service level management. Experience in budget preparation and financial oversight. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Strong presentation and reporting capability. Demonstrated professionalism and ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders. Skills & Competencie Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
