QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant Designation
  • Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a manager level role
  • Strong analytical, financial and accounting skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within and outside of the organization, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be hands-on, able to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in a public company environment subject to SOX requirements, gained either through industry or public practice.
  • Skilled at simplifying and streamlining complex processes and transactions.
  • Experience with OneStream, BlackLine and JD Edwards is an asset.
Responsibilities

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Corporate finance and Divisional finance teams to assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes, ensuring full compliance with corporate reporting standards, IFRS, and SOX requirements.
  • Document the analysis and resolution of complex accounting issues, providing technical guidance and clear recommendations to divisional finance teams and senior management.
  • Support SOX compliance activities, including risk assessment, control documentation, process walkthroughs, and the implementation of remediation plans as needed.
  • Assist with administration of finance technology tools.
  • Provide month-end reporting support where required.
  • Deliver training and ongoing support to divisional finance teams on technical accounting matters, internal controls, and the proper use of finance applications.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes and address findings efficiently.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement initiatives in systems, processes, and controls to drive operational excellence across the finance function..
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to support strategic initiatives and provide insightful business analysis.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Special projects as assigned by Corporate Financial Management, including potential short-term finance projects at various divisions.
