JOB OVERVIEW Function Overview The Finance organization partners across General Mills to provide financial expertise to guide and govern the company. The Finance function operates as a global team through the partnership of a series of enterprise-focused and business-embedded groups. Purpose of the role The Lead Financial Analyst will be focusing on analytics, reporting, forecast accuracy and establishing standardization. This individual will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Finance function through stronger analytics, financial modelling, and establishing a foundation for standardization. We are looking for someone with an analytical mindset. Critical success factors for this role include the ability to understand key business assumptions and drivers, understand financial systems and processes, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with and educate business partners while demonstrating a strong overall customer service orientation. In this role you will be able to build your process excellence, reporting expertise and situational agility capabilities. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES · Lead in establishing effective data quality requirements; define and own core data model hierarchies and attributes · Create/Update documentation and maintain/adapt as needed across business · Partner with relevant finance leaders to enable and define process requirements for standardization · Perform activities including reconciliation across systems, cross charges, headcount forecast, forecast submission · Analytics and Insights - develop standardized financial models to offer deep dive insights and business drivers · Forecast Accuracy: Manage forecast accuracy & reporting for the business · Monthly Business Review: build/ provide Monthly/Quarterly business review decks & proactively manage queries from Business partners · Spring Plan for Compensation & Non compensation- effective management of spring plan schedule, deliver on budgeting & forecasting exercise; Spring Plan templates, coordination with WHQ-GAAT resources · Manage and monitor Month-end process and reporting for the segments/functions; review and provide insights around actuals · Support projects and improvements for team around plan and reporting · Understands the business needs, being proactive with Initiative mindset to think, define process requirements to an evolving process (Finance Transformation) Proficient at handling the financial systems, forecast tools and document flows, while always ensuring strong compliance with internal controls; understanding of key interdependencies with other cross-functional data sets Work with global stakeholders and teams as One team Ad hoc request support MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics Minimum years of related experience required: 9+years Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels Advance Excel skills, strong technical and analytical skills Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed Strong business partnering abilities Independent and results-oriented Ability to shift priorities quickly when necessary Ability to align priorities with business strategy and vision Anticipates future business/ stakeholder needs and accelerates what is possible Deep expertise of systems and data structures - finance and cross-functional Process oriented with focus on consistency and integrity Analyses successes and failures to learn and continuously improve existing procedures and processes PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Professional Certifications: CA, MBA, PGDBA, MMS Preferred years of related experience: 9-12 years Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters Preferred Major Area of Study- Finance, Analytics, Accountancy COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves.
