JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sun Life’s Health Data Strategy and Insights team is helping Sun Life build innovative health solutions to address the most pressing health needs of Canadians. Reporting to the Director, Business Analytics, the Manager, Data Analytics will be responsible for the development, management and delivery of analytics support to the Underwriting teams. The leader in this role will be crucial in advancing our analytics capabilities, with a focus on creating efficient, scalable solutions that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, data engineering, analytics, and people management.

As a People Leader, you will:

• Coach, mentor and manage 2-3 data analysts to develop a high performing, highly motivated, innovative, and engaged team of professionals.
• Balance resource management between team development and delivering business value

• Identify process gaps and establish new processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness

  As a Technical Leader your responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and automated reporting solutions

• Spearhead the development and optimization of analytics tools and dashboards using Tableau, Tableau Prep, and other relevant technologies
• Modernize complex Excel macros and tools to streamline data processing and analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders including Directors, AVPs, data engineers, and technology partners
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, high-integrity analytics solutions
• Present insights and recommendations to business leaders, tailoring communication to various audiences
