Primary Responsibilities: Be able to Run SAS Base programs/jobs which runs on daily/weekly/monthly basis Be able to fix jobs due to logic/code issues and able to do jobs modifications based on the requirements Be able to analyze the code, understand the purpose, modify the code to run successfully Be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively and efficiently Understand and interpret the key drivers of health care trends; projecting expected revenue and cost Supporting cross-business analytics (Commercial, Medicare, & Medicaid) in developing consistent and appropriate modeling Conducting in-depth data extractions and analyses to provide actionable insights and drive decision-making Identifying and exploring new areas for analytical development in partnership with key stakeholders Developing high-quality written communications, persuasive presentations, and compelling deliverables tailored to client needs Designing analytics and extracting data leveraging technical skills in SAS, Python, Excel and SQL Mentoring junior team members and training sessions to build internal capabilities Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement Lead analysts in to support and enhance the forecasting & reporting requirements of various clients Identify inefficiencies in process and models and proactively take steps to implement changes Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Science, Engineering, Economics, or another related technical field from an accredited college or university 10+ years of experience as SAS developer with proficient knowledge on UNIX environment 10+ years of total relevant work experience in Financial or Insurance domain Of which, 8+ years of actuarial or analytics experience in the US healthcare market Extensive experience in building and maintaining SAS based models Experience building analytics models using SAS or SQL or other programming system Experience in designing and executing complex analyses, including data extraction and analysis using SAS, Python and/or SQL Experience in SAS maintenance and migration projects Experience in requirement analysis, design, development, testing and support of Finance, Banking or Health care domain projects using SAS Technologies Experience working with large data sets / systems / warehouses using SAS / SQL to translate data into information for decision making Experience or knowledge in the following: SAS Macros SAS SQL Automations of Manual jobs GitHub(Code versioning system) SAS Enterprise guide Azure Data bricks Snowfalke Basic Unix Expertise debugging capabilities and resolving the issues while executing the code and automating the process Extensive knowledge and experience on SAS EG, SAS Base and SAS DI Studio Advanced Proficiency in SAS (Statistical Analysis System) or SQL (Structure Query Language) or other programming system Proven ability to create and maintain efficient and scalable models Proven solid written and verbal communication skills and experience interacting with senior management Proven solid programming skills in Base SAS and Advance SAS(SAS Macros and Proc SQL) Proven good communication skills and interact to the customers on frequent basis At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
