Contribute to Starbucks success by managing the planning and execution of activities of a Data Engineering Team. As a manager in data engineering, you are responsible for managing a team of data engineers through planning, delivery and operations of solutions. This is a hands on technical role. You are also responsible for the evolvement, delivery and support the technology strategy and roadmaps for new and existing applications and platforms. This role requires managerial experience, technical expertise, domain proficiency, platform depth, and leadership. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. Lead & Inspire: Set vision, goals, and priorities for a data engineering team; foster innovation and collaboration. Drive Execution: Align initiatives with business objectives, ensure transparency, and deliver measurable impact. Mentor & Develop: Build an environment of trust, coach team members, and support career growth. Partner with Stakeholders: Consult across business and technology teams to define data needs and deliver solutions. Shape Data Strategy: Define and maintain enterprise data products and frameworks for analytics, AI/ML, and operational reporting. We'd love to hear from people with Semantic Expertise: Strong understanding of relationship data, graph technologies, taxonomy, and ontology. Enterprise Data Leadership: Experience building scalable data platforms and applying SDLC best practices. Hands-On Background: Previous coding or data engineering experience (role is leadership-focused, not coding-heavy). Execution Track Record: Proven ability to deliver complex projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Preferred: Background in Information Architecture, Library Science, or advanced Computer Science.
